There was a time not too long ago
When a man loved a woman
He told her so
Showed her so
He was her man
Through thick and thin
Not long ago
When men were men

He fed his family
Doing what he had to do
Never whinned about what life puts him through
Strong in Heart
Mind, body and soul
When men were men
Men were men
Moving on through life
In control

Self pity
Never a part of his game
He felt what he felt
Said what he had to say
Never disrespected others
Because he didn't get his way
When men were men
Back in the day

YESSSS!! I REMEMBER WHEN

HEY BE......

I REMEMBER WHEN MEN WHERE MEN

I OFTEN LOOK INSIDE MYSELF TO SEE
WHERE I STAND .......UPON THE REAL MEN

GUESS WHAT I RANK RIGHT UP THERE!

BOYZ GET OLDER PLANT SEED IN WOMAN
BUT THAT DON'T MAKE HIM A MAN

TO CARE AND PROVIDE AND MAKE OFFER
MAKES HIM A MAN
I REMEMBER WHEN MEN WHERE MEN
THANKS 4 MAKING ME TAKE ANOTHER LOOK
IN DA MIRROR.:D

as usual

your commentary is thought-provoking and full of meaning. Men cease to be 'men' when they allow themselves to be controlled by their passions. Once that occurs, it becomes like a demon, ever stalking and eating away at the core of their souls. Men cease to be men when they compromise their principles, and the affect is like so many dominoes tumbling down. The up-hill battle to re-gain manhood lost is sometimes too great a proposition. Especially for the weakened, fallen, once-upon-a- time-man who now finds it strangely soothing to live inside unrealistic hopes and dreams; and endless schemes.

A man was a man, not long ago. The struggle to recapture even the shadow of who he was, continues.

On point, BE. Thanks for sharing.
