The little girl in me demanded use of laptop
Saying she has a lot to say and could do it just as well
I was locked up with you she said
Finding out that G Unit is a psych facility
In the county of kings and her genius was invisible to them
She danced in their halls and fell to their floors
Rebuffed with angry words cause they thought
She was acting out and could have helped herself
They did not know she could not change into someone else
That it took 3 of her to maintain and none could be in charge
In the ER repeating 911 is a joke cause when she dialed it they did not come

Outside the window the strange figures walked around
Cars parked and drove by in airy ways
She tried repeatedly to push her way through the doors
The employees were angered that she was messing up their day
She wants to be rid of that poet that sometimes speaks for her
Thinking someone ought to know I am here
I survived the cruelty without distinguished marks
Except there was no way to change the color of my skin
Though operations available my sex must stay the same
For I am and that time passed and I have missed myself

She wants to curse out people who deny that people split themselves
To hide the scars that should not show now or ever
How can any believe that many live in one
That a psychiatrist does not have to be called
That there are many that walk like this and do best alone
For they have figured out how to maneuver the universe
Understanding that there is magic in the world
The things that only children believe
She is angry cause she is not a Toys R Us kid
Yet she fears that growing up would mean entering a world
Where little girls are not in charge of other selves
Someone ought to recognize that I am not ruined
I too deserve a voice and an opportunity to say
The locked doors hurt cause I did not have a key
I broke through the barriers of myself
And no one sees the miracle of me
I am having to retreat into a person I despise
Cause the world is still not a safe place for children
Only adults can vote and no one wants to hear a child cry her past tears

Outstanding, in so many ways. So much can happen when we let that inner child out, and she is allowed love in a world that may not understand her. Patrice...whew...
