This was for my wife, Angelisa, who God suddenly took home on June 24th, 2010...It took me this long to share...

When God gave me you
my life became complete
my heart beat stronger
my vision is clearer

I would write of life, love, and peace
I could speak of hope, joy and pain
but never did I realize the things I share with others
would be seeds planted in the blessing of you;

I awaited on the road forever
looking at the many pass me by
searching for the piece of me
that I could recognize blindly;

I sought you in my dreams
I asked for you in my prayers
I looked for you in my worship
and now the God gave me you
I thank Him in my praise;

I cry without reason, smile without
purpose and sing without music in
the midst of a crowd and people look
to know that love is with me;

I want to hold you forever,
smile with you infinitely,
walk with you until the days
no longer separate from night,

and when the sands become soft
I will carry you in arms built for you;

On bent knee I waited with one arm
lifted high to hold commitment, peace,
devotion, joy, trust, love, happiness,
and communication wrapped in God’s anointing;

Look to the sky?
Can you see the clouds forming our shape
as GOD smiles upon the completion of HIS request?
And now, as I lift you up to hold His hand
I smile to know that, one day, you will reach down for me...

I love you, I miss you and I thank God for your life…7 years was not enough...Derrick
