Baby what does love mean to you?
is love using your manhood to overwhelm
using your size to hurt and swell
does it mean I MUST obey
be ridiculed and put down day after day
to turn the other cheek when you go astray
in hopes that you will lose intrest and once again everything will be o.k
to look at you as a ruler and not a partner
to be denied my spiritual bread and water
to be taught that my opinions don't matter
to keep the peace I have to put up with whatever
to feel that I am a slave and there is no shelter
bring down my self worth to think I can't do better
to say my words hold no ground
made to think I am lost and can never be found
to make me weak, to give up
is that what you really call love??

I can tell you that's not love to me
I feel love should nurture
mentally and emotionally
I should be the roots AND leaves to your tree
to be held up for all to see
to be put on a pedestal, treated as your queen
to let no other come between
talk to me as if I am on your level
think of me like that most precious metal
touch me to heal me
the physical and the mental
forsake me not for some other person or thing
theres only me your nubian queen
let me know my opinion matters
let us meet inbetween
prove to me there is no better place to go
make me want to stay even as we grow old
show me that the WHOLE world isn't so mean
