Black People Politics : What's wrong with being friendly with Russia? What exactly is the fear?

I understand politically why the Media and the Democrats are highlighting the Russia angle, but outside of that, What really is the fear? Wouldn't an improved relationship with Russia ease tensions around the world?

What exactly is the fear? Is it residual energy from the Coldwar? I see, through netflix, how the Russian and Chinese national image is used to represent some nefarious, dark element.. but TV programming and internal political posturing aside..

What's the big deal?

I kind of like, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." In order to talk them into peace (Nice try) or get a sense of serious attitude, a slip of the tongue. It is intellectual recon.

You lie with dogs, you're going to come up with fleas.

The issue with Russia under Putin's rule, as I understand it is about jockeying for world power and domination. Destroy you biggest adversary. Who is "king of the mountain"? Essentially I view this as Russia knocking America off the top of the world mountain and replacing us. It's essentially the same thing for America, which is why we have the largest and most powerful military in the world. We claim to bow to no one. We have more than 200 military bases throughout the world. And why is that?

Because we are brilliant strategists? Yes. :em4000:

Putin knows it's dangerous to challenge the U.S. in a military war so he has chosen to engage in cyber war instead and it appears he's doing a darn good job because he wants our country to implode--destroy us from the inside out. Have to admit, that's an ingenious plan. With all the violence and murders involving our police; issues around racism and sexual assault heightening; political scandals and disingenuous behavior among politicians; the widening gap between the poor and wealthy...there's plenty of rotting stuff for countries that hate us to capitalize on. When things get too hot though, the wealthy will escape to their homes in other countries, leaving the poorest among us to remain here in the midst of the struggle and be herded like cattle by our military and stripped of our democracy and freedom by a new government. So much for the Constitution and citizen's rights.

There is a scary truth to what you say. Just one question. Are we sure it is OUR military? Or will it be Putin's, or Korea/China. For that matter Putin also has also sent military equipment to Iran.

I would submit that our actual U.S. military enforcement is made up of men and women from family status, poor and middle income. Generally, average police and military would run home to protect their families. I support your theory as being a path of truth.
