What is the goal spiritually? Magickally? or what have you? Why should we work with spirits? For what reason?

Why do we learn what we learn? To what ends?

I had a reading with shells in a spiritual store.
He said plenty but the one thing that stuck was until I listen to the spirits that are trying to guide me everything will be chaotic for me.
In my heart I know he's right.
I keep hoping one day the spirits will go away but they wont.
The only thing is knowing where to begin.
I think it's very important for me because I have always been apart of the spirit world.
Apparently they know me very well.
I'm just not sure of what I'm getting myself into.

I would think the goal of spirituality is to unite your higher and your lower selves to operate in harmony with each other....magickally, to enjoy life on a higher level by using energy to bring about positive results....there is more than one plane that is present on different vibrational levels and there are beings and ancestors who can guide you in all areas of life....we learn what we learn for the enjoyment of life in this present incarnation on this particular planet in this particular physical body to realize our divinity and the God within

    For me as well...

"Everybodies talking, I can't hear a word their saying, only the echoes of my mind" (Luciano)

There are so many Voices speaking
on this side and from the others

    It's hard to know
    "Who's Who"
and KNOW what I'm to Do
    to keep it real and
    TRUE
    to the Cause

    of Afreekan Liberation
    out of this lousy shytuation
    the end....yet
    by which means:?:

This is what frustrates me and makes me stop wondering for awhile.
Than somehow I come right back to it.
It's easy to speak about it but to experience it and not know what the hell is going on is very scary.
What summons you to be there in the first place?
I will try to read the metu neter again.
It's just that everytime I read thatbook I open up in ways you wouldn't imagine.
It seems like every spirit known visits me.
I let my girlfriend read it 2 see if she would experience what I did with the book but she didn't.
I do spiritual things and dont even know they are spiritual.
Like one time I was lying on the couch while reading the book.
    I lit red candles.
I fell into trance and a spirit appeared.
I didn't know what to do.
Nor did I ask to be there.
I just asked what did it want.

I remember back in the early 90's when I used to attend a local African Studies Group, we had a visitor. He was a friend of a study group member. The brother was from East Africa and was very knowledgeable about Africa and the cultures present there. His information surpassed many of the books we read or at least complimented many of the writers' information. I gain instant respect for this brother. While he was talking, I noticed that one of his arms were deformed. I felt an immediate kinship because my left arm is doing its own thang, too. After the study group, I felt compelled to talk with the brother. He was cool, very friendly and approachable. We spoke about a few things and then he said, "Many are called; few are chosen." I asked him to repeat what he just said, because I thought I did hear him correctly. He repeated. Then he told me, you know what I'm talking about. He continued, "If you don't want to believe me, you're only hurting yourself and you know it."

I knew exactly what he meant. Afterwards, begin my quest to find what I needed. His words were only confirmation of things I already knew and what the old people had said while I was growing up. Since then, other experiences have confirmed the truthfulness of all of this. Do not at any moment forsake your calling, because if you do your spirits will leave and then you will spend eternity wishing them back. Have courage and embrace your destiny wherever it may lead.

    Thank you I will not.
I would just like to know how I can begin.
I want to be completely protected but also pull some wisdom from it.
What or could I summon or invoke to begin with?
    How as well.
I need alot of answers for my personal life.
