I miss knowing that someone longs to kiss me,
Touch me, feel me, look into my eyes and see
    The window of my soul.

I miss knowing that someone longs love me,
Respect me, share with me their joys and pains,
That someone longs to tell me how much they miss
Me when I am not around.

I miss knowing that I can love in return and feel my
Time making that other feel secure, comfortable, at
    Peace in my presence.

“Whine, whine, whine. U know u been choosing the wrong
Scumbags, liars, cheats, wolves masquerading in sheep’s skin,
U know u knew instinctively that the relationship wasn’t right
From the start but u went ahead with it anyway.”

I miss my heart skipping a beat when he appears and
The sound of his voice sending magic waves through
My body and turning into an electricity felt only by two,
    Only for two…

“U know that u can’t get anything out of relationship that u aren’t
Putting in yourself-U know…I know u know cause u bright like that.”

I miss those stolen moments and secret embraces caught in a moment
    Of impulsiveness

I miss knowing that u also can’t wait to be with me like I can’t wait to
    Be with u..

“But u know- well, maybe at the time u didn’t know, but girlfriend, when he
wasn’t with u, he was with her and their knew born baby, yeah it broke
your heart but aren’t u rather glad u out of it? He lied to u, told u he was going
to make time for his ‘baby’, but what he wasn’t telling u is that he wasn’t going
to make time for his other baby.”

I miss being naïve and ignorant and not seeing the true colours when revealed to
    Me..

“but u not young and gullible anymore, now u are a woman who knows”

    Indeed I am aren’t I?

“Yes baby girl, now u can look forward to the real thing”

No doubt, ain't nothing like the real thing... I like the inner dialogue of this poem. Sis, you have touched on one aspect
of a relationsip that many lovers experience. Those unfortunate
    growing pains of love-

Hey, you said it. Your little conversation with yourself is exactly what we all go through. Yet we all know how we gonna let it all happen...it ain't good for us but we go for it anyways, then we're mad cuz it didn't work out. What can I say? We just looking for love in all the wrong places...and can I say...the wrong people also?

    I'm just sayin...

mkhaya....This is so true. A heart to heart conversation with girlfriends about wanting love. We've all been there. If you're going through a problem just keep the faith dear. Love yourself first and foremost, and think about the type of man and relationship you need (not just want). This is the best way to prepare yourself for love. Never give up on love, and love will never give up on you.

Your poem is very passionate. Thanks for sharing dear.
