Black People : What is your Understanding of Wants and Desires?

Commented on a questionable point in a Haiku post I made.
This is an open topic and these two words are often overlapping and should be better understood so that needs and wants can be distinguished from each other.

sin is selfish inconsiderate needs.... aka... wants....

sustain urself like the sun ...

Isn't it all a play on words?
Selfish inconsideration is sinful.
I appreciate the enlightment... explain more if possible

1. Wants can mean possess.

2. Wants can be a desire

There is a desire ( want ) verses what is called for ( need ) going on all the time.

1. Since Want is a desire _ to possess, to have , hold and include

2. And a Need _ is what is required, called for , or what you could do with


I want to hold and include in my wants.


A need is necessary for a person's survival, well-being or comfort.

A mother / father must feed their children for they depend on them for survival, well being and comfort.

needs are as u state necessity

s.i.n. is a selfish inconsiderate need or a want

hodee what it all boils down to is being satisfied with u

the truth is

if u get to a point where u can let go of all ur desires or wants (including eve)

then u can commune with the gods within u and also calm the beast

they all exist right within

the son of light ... what exactly does that mean?

that means that the sun is the center of the universe

the sun sustains itself

so at the center of u is a light

find it

exist

and then

ask the universe for ur wants or desires

and i can promise u that if u do that

ur wants will change because

ur inner light

will guide u

to the right (not the left ... ps. r&b stand for reagan and bush)

I think wants and desires are the same thing. To desire is just a stronger description of the word want.

To need is a necessity. Something you must have in order to survive/function properly.

IMHO

one can only "want" something because of a lack of knowledge on how to obtain that which causes that wanting energy..

if you want something how come you don't already have it?

To "desire" is an aspiration after a certain amount of knowledge of what one "want's" has been attained. Though, that knowledge still has not fulfilled what she/he "want's"...

if you desire something, you must not have the knowledge to obtain the same....

"needs" are something we all are born with.. but our needs change according to the same knowledge that controls what we "want" & "desire"...& it will vary, especially considering the atmosphere in which we were raised!

Hmmm yep! the two meanings are pretty close.. Infact they are both that I'm going to say.. they are just different words that actually mean the same thing i.e you would perhaps just use them in different contexts like -

1. I desire that woman ..she's beautiful Or
2. I want that Man .. he's sooo handsome

If you were to ask the difference between WANT and NEED then my conclusion would be different altogether!
