    "I weep because we sleep"

    Destiny hidden away in
    the lost and found
    Tired of searching so he’s
    Heading uptown
    Street corner bound
    The jungle's scary so he’s
    packin extra pounds
    Head down
    A mean mug frown
    Trigger-happy attitude tightly wound
    Deafening sounds
    No prize in this fight
    yet fifteen rounds
    Skin brown
    Heavenly bound
    Into the light
    Bones rigored tight
    as chalk outlines the ground

    Still dawning Massa’s chains
    The neighborhood’s pain
    Blocks stalked with
glocks guard false real estate claims
    Drugs on brains
    Direct exchange
    Sinister smiles behind
white gold selling souls for material gains
    Chasing wealth
    while spiritual health
    Remains un-maintained
    Short-lived reign
    Destiny takes aim
    Caught in the crossfire
    Involuntarily retired from the game
    Bagged remains
    Sun soaked children
    of the struggle
    cloaked in crimson stains

I weep for the fact, that we're in a deep sleep,
yes, with our souls...they manage to keep.

The old is going ...the young is so lost...
It's been 300 years, yet we still pay the cost.

Massa, pat my head, ...kick me in the @ss
ain't that's how it's always been in the past?

Hey, we can't stop the fight, or get off track,
yeah...we got to retrieve our babies back!

Excellent drop poet, I  to MAAT

While some stand back and just shake their heads at our youth, you pen the real reasons for the chaos. This was potent, and is powerful spoken, I'll bet. Enjoyed the flowback from queent.
