These are all life size figures beneath 5 Meters of water. What does it say to you? And what is your response?

It mixes the old with the new; the unity with the chains. But for my part, I don't want to mix with the new. I'd rather mix the old with the older: unity with death.
It made me sad, I do acknowledge that it is at the bottom of a body of water, so maybe this adds to my feelings. It left me sad, it seems as if the people were stuck together with chains and dropped to the bottom. It is something about the expression or lack of expression on their faces. It was if they were whispering a secret to one another, waiting for something. It struck me as them waiting for something, it made me sad, but they look as if they are just starting to realize something. Just talking to one another, some of the heads seem turned towards another head. It looks like black people from their features in my opinion. It almost made me think that there were real black people encased in the cement that surrounded them.
