libertylady i found some things for you to read first it says that the husband is to be the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church.Ephesians chapter 5 verse 22.it also says for the husband to love the wife the way Christ loved the church.Ephesians chapther 5 verse25.i would recommend that you read ephesians chapther 5 verses 22-31.God never intended divorce to be but it is because the hardness of our hearts .people being unwilling to forgive.Matthew chapter 19 verses3-9.For better or for worse is exactly what it means no matter what Im gonna stay with you .Not until i find something better or someone who looks better.Poeople just give up to quickly.I hope i have been some help.Also read 1st corinthans chapter 7 verse 3 ,4 13 & 14

Understanding marriage Biblically

According to the The Holy Bible marriage was the result of the separation of the sexes. A truely good is the reflection of the image of God. Man and Woman together compliment eachother forming a whole being or the complete image of God. Man must love Woman just like his own body and vice versa. If man is knowledge then woman is wisdom and what is created between them is understanding. Just like RevCurley said the foundation of civilation marriage. It is the first institution of God. The relationship between Man and Woman is crucial for the survival of a civilation.
