Hey, y'all :) I went to my little cousin's awards day ceremony earlier last week. Since I had made it there about 20 minutes or so before it started, I decided to read through the program just to kill time. Now, I'm not one to judge, but reading some of the names on the program literally gave me a mild headache. Some of the names were so long and hard to pronounce. Some had apostrophes and accents. I was like, "who in the world would do that to their child?" Then, I started thinking about what I would name my baby. I would want to give him/her a name that he/she would be proud to have. I wouldn't want to get overly creative or fancy with it. So, I was thinking that if my first child were a boy, his name would be Malcolm Notorious Watson. I'm not totally sure for a girl. But that's definitely it for a boy. What do y'all think?

I like Malcolm, but I am not so sure about Notorious. It instantly makes me thing of The Notorious B.I.G., which isn't a bad thing, if you like Biggie. I don't know, for some reason that word has a bad connotation associated with it in my mind. I have absolutely no idea why.

Yeah, I like Biggie. But I chose Notorious because it's actually my grandfather's name.

Well then I say go for it, I think it is great when we use names from our family. It gives it a meaning and I think that's special and a great badge of honor for any child to wear.

I think it would garner too much negative attention.

As long its not any connection with "English" slave names that a lot of our people are trying to disconnect from, and a lot have, with first and last names......

Thats why you seen that, many people simply are naturally reacting to having been forced with a foreign name that represents being enslaved.....why wear names of white(european) people, when you're not white(european)......lol....same thing with language.....you gotta seperate yourself as much as possible from this beast.....

Thats one reason many of our people can't get their minds and hearts away from whites, because they wearing their name, praying to their god, speaking their language, and soaking in this wicked culture in amerikkka.....

Go here to look for your child's name:
