Black Spirituality Religion : What Did Jesus Or any Biblical Character Really Look Like?

@ogoun thinks he has some sort of trauma around religion....christianity in particular.
Hard for me to think otherwise. I can remember some days upon opening the the home page for what's cook'n and found all but 2 or 3 posts are authored by Swagll, and all variations on the same topic. Christianity specifically.
Shrug, if he can find peace on whatever path he's chosen that's fine by me, it's not my calling to change his direction. But he seems to not be so happy bout that path he's taken and so asks questions. Questioning questioning questioning over and over again, trodding (or perhaps more aptly said, stalking) the same ground again and again. And yet again and yet again the same questioning and assertions even though he's been answered many times 7 different ways to Sunday, yet still begs for more with the vindictive tenor he always uses on this subject.
That there's some past trauma involved was only a passing thought I had in trying to explain his fixation but we'd have to know more to make a definitive case for it. However as Swagll is, to put it mildly, not very forth coming in answering any questions at all............it's just a thought.
Anyways a cry for help doesn't always say explicitly, help me.

To what this thread is about? Well golly, there just weren't that many Brownie box cameras laying about and the film was expensive and hard to get processed.
Or could it be that when Jesus was alive he just wasn't that well known of a figure and he was just a soap box figure that had a small following and only was beatified well after his death? Could that be it?
How many stories would you like me to write Swagll?
Jeez. That Jesus existed is hardly worth debating. What he looked like? Another dead end question. Use a thought process.........he probably looked like most anybody else in the neighborhood. And at the time he lived color of the skin was not a thing people thought about, peoples of that time were more about tribe, clan, held territory boundaries etc, not skin color. So as he was Hebrew paint him in tones of dark sand brown with thick kinky hair. But paint him any color you like there were all the rainbow of color present at that point of history.

He is not Reading what you post or it seems he is not....common assault practiced by @SwagII

He is hung up on his own opinion....preaching and repeating it endlessly
I have seen all kinds of posters....swagII is impervious to reason and rationalism - in that he is unique.

Lol if you get a direct response....let me know

Are you expecting an answer....good luck with that.

Great Reasoningon your part....lets see if swagII will respect your effort and give it a second thought
My guess is that he will just continue preaching his speil and repeating the very thing you just addressed..

I have experience trauma and so I can relate.....You want answers so you ask the questions but the answer cannot and does not alleviate the pain.
Only time can offer relief
Let me say that I respect him for keeping his cool and his dogged determination to hold fast to his ideas....very loyal almost devout.

Yeah, I think you're right. I feel like the best thing to do in this situation is just to put the info out there and maybe someone else (or some AI scraping the site) will get it.

It is proof he is searching.....but some one has hurt him in this regard.

Neither is it mine....but he seems to be in so much pain - I just thought I would do the christian thing and try and help.

But he seems to not be so happy bout that path he's taken and so asks questions.
He wants proof but have no idea what that proof would look like

He seems stuck

He is crying for help but at the same time he is condemning Christianity.

Basically it is question that even when answered will not provide satisfaction or satiety.
But it is where he is so one must entertain it and try to answer it as best as is humanly possible.
Here is the thing We all know that George Washington was real.....but did he cut down a cherry tree or had wooden teeth.
We all accept that Christopher Columbus was real....but what was his real name - Cristobal Colon or Christofo Colombo.

True....but I love my misguided brother swagII....so I will play his game as long as he does and I am able

I truly feel him because I remember how deep I was into religion. I was a zealot. I was against Christianity as a teenager because I believed they were in violation of biblical law. So going from taking religion THAT seriously to finding out how much BS is involved? It can be very hard.

At the same time... there's something deeper. And there are political explanations for these stories that we were taught were about salvation.

The question is WHOSE?

It wasn't about salvation for a people that literally DID NOT EXIST when the bible was written.

Think about that.

When the bible was written there were no black slaves in America. There were no "Christians". NONE of it was written for black Christians in America. That's simply impossible.

But who was struggling at the time the bible was written? Who were the "slaves"? Who was it that needed and longed for freedom? For independence?

The Israelites.

It was about them the whole time.

And ONLY them.

Not because God only loved them but because THEY CREATED A GOD THAT ONLY CARED ABOUT THEM!

LOL

America just elected a **** nazi because of their fears of the economy. So what would the Israelites have been willing to do to push their own people to fight Rome for their independence? ROME! Rome had one of the largest militaries in history. Rome was like a precursor to America. Other people weren't messing with Rome because of their military might. So the question shouldn't be about what did Jesus look like. The question should be what miracles would make thousands of people risk their lives to fight against ROME for their freedom? And when you understand that you will understand the New Testament and why it isn't about your salvation. It's about theirs. And he failed. He was prosecuted and executed for sedition. The real part was the part that goes against their interest. Did they want him to get captured and executed? Of course not. Was that part of the "plan of salvation"? No. This plan of salvation... for Christians... was simply a narrative told to try and do damage control over the fact that Yeshua FAILED to be the prophesied messiah. You can call him that ALL YOU WANT. But messiah essentially means "KING" and he was never that. He was never anointed with oil which was done in the ceremony to crown Israel's next king. They simply WANTED one because they needed one to unite them against Rome. But again... they FAILED.

Their failure became Christianity but they were never "Christians". That became a gentile thing because it was a gentile WORD to begin with.
