I was listening to Destee and jamesfrmphilly talk on blogtalk radio.. around the 63 minute mark.. the discussion centered on what Obama could actually do for black people.
It's a good question.. and I'm interested in what everyone else thinks.

Brother JamesFrmPhilly - Elder Interview - Happy Birthday - Destee Podcast

So, I'm asking, "What could Obama do for black people?" .. or.. "What would you like to see him do for Black people?

I don't know if this particularly helps black folk, but off the top of the dome, would like to see pres. obama push to make drug sentencing laws between powder and rock cocaine equal.

    6. Personally.. meaning in a personal interview type forum.. you know.. when he has some time.. condemn Gangster crime-rhyme misogynist hip hop.. and do it from within the cultural context of the black family unit--using his own family, his own daughters as an example case.

    7. Put forth comprehensive reform aimed directly and unflinchingly at Police Brutality. Including the profiling of abusive cops, the prosecution of abusive cops and also outlawing the use of deadly force on any unarmed citizen.. and also Federal legislation aimed directly at the use of Tasers and any other type of device that delivers and Electrical charge.. on the streets and in Jails and Prisons.

    to be continued..

Tax relief and reparations/bailout for every African American who lived in economically depressed areas and lost their homes and/or jobs during the Great Recession, extend this to the working poor of all races who have a gross income under the poverty line, and extend the standard deduction to $10,000, and match it with a tax credit if your net worth is under $10,000.

Don't touch Social Security at all, and cut the military spending by at lease half, to support this nation's recovery.

I agree. Suppose I am a Domestic Policy Advisor, how exactly do you suggest that this recovery be supported. How? What programs?
