I hadn't read the article until now. There is also a nasty little sentence at the bottom of the article. This is definitally a racist sight.

I'm sure beastiality is practiced by individual Africans just like it is practiced by people of other races. I find it hard to believe that Africans are using it as a way to rid themselves of AIDS though.

I knew it seemed a little odd when I read the article and saw how the Africans were described. I kindof figured that it could have been a racist site. However, I am still certain that Beasiality is being practiced. Like I said earlier on in this thread, there is no escaping it- you have sick minded individuals- be them Black, White, Brown or Red - No Race is above commiting this crime. Now, Africans commiting Beastiality for the sake of keeping the AIDS virus out of their system- I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THIS!!!!

There are several well qualified sources who question the definition and spread of AIDS in Africa.

I agree with "youngblackceo" that there is more of a structural issue that needs to be addressed. The first step though, is to find valid sources of information. Keep up the questions.

This was a question that was asked by a brother from another board. Here was my answer to his question. I would like to hear what you guys think about this also.

**** by that time alot of people will have died. Look there are alot of theories as to where this virus came from. The most popular theory is that it is man-made and the creation and infection of the disease may serve a political and economic purpose for white people. Know whether this theory is true or not is not the point. I'm going to try and answer brother tmonster question. "How can we help stop the spread of Aids in Africa."

I think one of the most important aspects that is never brought up when blacks are discussing something like this is the fact that we as Africans all over the world are so subceptible to the attacks of others especially from europeans. A major part of the problem with the aids crisis in Africa and in the US. in the black community is the fact that we have no real power. Let me put it this way we have no nation are a base of power were we can collectively conspire together to produce the institutions we need to devolop the people we need that could combat issues such as this.

People you have got to have a nation that has been set up by the people to insure the survival of the group. Look at black folks in america we have all kinds of doctors and other so-called educated people, but yet collectively we are not able to do anything to stop the biological warfare that is being wage against us. There is no simple answer to this question but I know for a fact until Africans especially in America start thinking in terms of nation building. We will never be able to produce the type of people and institutions we need to combat any attacks against us whether it be biological are physical.

I hope this will give you guys a good idea on how I feel about this crisis. I also have attached two excerpts from some speeches that may also give you a good idea on what I was trying to say.

I found it extremely hard to believe and incredibly disgusting and devastating that grown men are raping baby girls in the very mistaken belief that it will cure them of AIDS...but they did that too.

Sadly, I don't believe that there is anything that can be done to stop the spread of AIDS in Africa...not as long as ignorant beliefs such as these continue to persist in the year 2004 - almost 2005... All the educational programs in the world about reckless sexual practices - unprotected sex with prostitutes followed with unprotected sex with wives, birth control for HIV/AIDS positive women etc... doesn't seem to make any difference.

I saw one special on PBS where a group of medical researchers studied two villages seperated by a valley. One village had epidemic rates of HIV/AIDS while the other one had virtually no cases. After much research on their similiar culture and lifestyles it was discovered that the men in the group with the high HIV/AIDS rate were all uncircumcised while the religious practices of the other village dictated that their men be circumcised. Apparently the lining of the foreskin is extra-ordinarily vascular which greatly aids in transmission and transfer of the virus. When this was discovered the researchers went to the elders/leaders of the affected village and offered free circumcision in cooperation with the local medical clinics etc... They recognized that the spread of AIDS wasn't going to be stopped completely by circumcision but it would at least help. Citing their own village's religious beliefs the elders politely and succinctly turned the medical team's offer down.

Evidently, their religious beliefs did NOT preclude them from consorting with prostitutes. :danger:
