    Peace and Blessings Family,

Recently Kemetstry said that we need to protest some of what we're seeing in Rap / Hip Hop by taking our dollars away from them, and it was pointed out by Brother DaFlash that this industry has not been dependent upon Black dollars for some time.

This made me wonder, what people are being financially sustained by Black People / Dollars?

Are there any people or industries being sustained primarily by Black People / Dollars?

    Can you name them?

As i think on this ... the only one that comes to mind is the Black Hair Care Industry ... and even here, it's the stylists moreso than the manufacturers / providers of products (as they are usually not Black and they get the biggest portion of the profit) ... if i'm even right about them.

    Are there others?

    Thanks in advance.

    Love You!

While I'll agree on all of industries that you mentioned, all but the Black hair care have substantial contributions from other groups as well.

    A fair statement.

A question in response though is what is our ratio of consumption within each industry in relation to our percentage in the population?

Thanks Brothers ... but this question / topic has a bit more of a twist to it ... :look:

Not only must we financially sustain the industry ... but we must also be the primary ones that are sustained by the industry.

Even with hair care products ... we don't fully qualify. Yes, we feed the industry our dollars, but those dollars do not primarily sustain black people.

Likewise ... none of the following industries financially sustain black people primarily / only.

    Lightening cream.
    Prison industrial complex.
    Fast food.
    Drugs (alcohol, cigarettes, etc)

Our money / energy / labor goes into these industries ... while the profit goes to others.

Am i correct ... and if so ... is there any industry that gets our money and sustains us?

    Love You!
