Genetically Modified COLLARD GREENS and/or other "safe" and "Healthy" Foods:?:

I am sitting here preparing Collard Greens for dinner. I am struck by the nice green color, firmness of the leaves, NO residuals of soil, Next to No dis-coloration, NO scent, AND, they have been in the frig for well OVER a week.
These things suggest to me these greens are DEFINITELY genetically modified.

So I'm wondering just WHAT the potential dangers are. Is there ANY usefulness from these aside from the pleasurable illusion (as I eat) that I am taking another step towards healthy eating and/or just the feeling one gets when eating.

However, I''m looking at these Greens, so EASY to "pick", roll and cut and KNOWING full well, it is something Unnatural about them and maybe I'd do better simply chucking them.

Any thoughts and/or have other people been noticing more Genetically modified vegetables.

    M.E.

You don't think with the aforementioned characteristics of these greens, they may NOT be GM:?:

Is it possible for Organic Greens to last this long and be in the state mentioned:?:

It IS highly possible that they ARE Organic, as that's what I tend to buy and my Sister seems to be trying pick up some of my habits. Plus, a new Grocery Store opened in the hood (prepared for the ghost that are taking over I'm sure, cause the old one situated here in "Progress Plaza" philly) is a store that specializes in Organic and alternative foods.

They sure smell good with this garlic and olive oil.

Sorry Awo, that's all the info I can give at this time:)

    not trying to argue,
anything can look like anything these days,

could be chemicals or what not like they put on certain strawaberries,
the safest bet is to purchase certified organic,

My understanding is that it is difficult to even determine whether or not something is genetically modified, let alone determine the detrimental effects of them. I don't think that gm and organic are necessarily linked. GM means that genes have actually been manipulated to make some jacked up new version. Whatever new creation is derived can often be patented---meaning there's going to be restrictions on being able to grow them, IF you can even grow them, because the "seeds" are often useless. Organic, to my knowledge, has to do with restricted or non-use of certain chemicals during the growing process; so, if this is correct, it would seem possible that something could be heirloom or gm and still be organically grown.

i notice about the vegetables if i can get off the subject a little that our babies are huge, and everything is not what they use to be. with all the chemicals and steriods they are giving to animals and plants for mass production. when was the last time a orange taste like a orange. i am starting to get organic vegatables because i'm noticing bell peppers the size of a cow head, and apples bigger than my head. that is so unnatural and the bananas are hard as hell now. i can go on and on. and speaking of babies we cooked these beefed up vegetables feed them and now there bigger than there suppose to be. my child was eight pounds one ounce i'm not trying to sound racist. but who heard of black women having huge babies that size and i had her two weeks early. if i had carried my child to full term she would have been a twelve pounder. now im trying to help my child now lose a little weight because she is the size of a grown woman and she is twelve. my new year resolution is going to be organic for awhile.....

Ok...the first video claims that buying organic means you are avoiding gm foods, but I'm not 100 percent convinced; I'd have to keep doing research to see. I'm ALMOST certain I've seen seedless grapes that are organically grown; now seedless fruits and veggies are indeed gm.

You also have to be clear about what exactly constitutes 'organic', because the FDA, I believe, has a hand in defining that as well; in fact, there are number codes on fruits and veggies that tell whether a food is organic or 'conventional'...
