I'm tired of living in Virginia. It's not exactly bad for blacks but it's not exactly good either. Plus VA is more like a retirement state. I'm young and ambitious, I can't make my dreams come true in a place like this. Can someone please suggest some good places to live (for blacks) and please try not to stray off-topic because this is very important to me.

I don't know what field you are in, but you certainly will be able to enjoy the NYC life if you like the fast paced style.

I've never lived in Va., only visit from time to time so i'm not sure of the pace there, but according to the tone in your post i would say it's not. At least not fast enough, or enough opportunities for you. Nyc would be a great place to look into imho....

Seattle, WA...it has a lot of opportunities for young professionals from all backgrounds. Not competitive, crime rate isn't high, pay is always excellent, cost of living is affordable, no outrageous pollution, not fast or too slow...and the scenery is beautiful.

There's a pretty good selection, depending on the particulars of what you're looking for.

San Francisco is all-around good, but cost-of-living maybe comparatively higher...
Seattle is a good pick...I'd say it caters to most people -- in terms of job diversity, activities,...

Do you mind if I ask what part of VA you reside?
