I'm going to take on one quote from Confronting the culture of Death. Scripture was used speaking that we are sacrificing our children to "mute idols," i.e. corporations. 1 Corinthians.
I don't think the business end of a corporation is going to cause any death in America unless it's a world wide gambling casino and the patron went out in the parking garage and killed himself because of his losses. In fact business corporations are subject to the same risk as any little business, they have to keep up with supply and demand according to what the public determines they want, and how well they are being served. Example Sears is closing stores while Penny's is not. I'm going to blame Sears for the lack of understanding of what the every day shopper wants.
The last time I was in their closing store with it's going out of business sale, I left there without buying anything because as hard as I tried to take advantage of the 40-60% off sale, there was nothing I would spend my money on. The soft merchandise was poor in quality and frumpy. Sears used to have quality washer/dryers and refrigerators only I didn't see any. The store seemed dark in lighting. I left.
Penny's was well lit which lifted my shopping spirit. They also had sales. I bought things. Penny's is doing well because their corporate buyer/manager knows what people are looking for. That is the difference.
Now regarding "mute idols." I think we know I'm not going into Pennys and getting on my knees in front of the sheets and towel isle. If their prices are too high I will leave there and go to the corporation of Bed Bath and Beyond. If I don't like what they have, I'll decide I don't need anything that much and leave to go get a treat at a corporate fast food drive through. I'll probably check and get gas at another corporation station (the one that is selling gas for less) on my way home.
Then, I'll check in my refrigerator (corporation) to see what I want for dinner which is filled with all kinds of corporations. Look around at your places dear Destee members, do you see any corporations hanging in your closet? ...something you sleep on? Something you drive? Funny, huh?
Now seriously, Do you really want a Socialist government limiting your freedom with the variety you have now for doctors? Schools you can go to? Do you want to drive a little French style car that looks like a skate? We have it good. There is nothing immoral about people who want to become entrepreneurs with dreams of making it big. Because if they do it will because they gave us what we want for the price we will buy it for.
There are 40 countries who have tried Socialism and they all failed in one way or another. The Blaze. If there is one that has succeeded that any knows about. It would be good to hear it.
