    I had a dream....
    But it wasn't of welfare...
    I had dream...
To be all that i can be...

But i didn't know where to go...
So I just stuck wit what i know...
I got job but it didn't pay my bills
So I moved back home wit my moms...
    just decided to chill...

    I had dream...
    But it wasn't of welfare...
    I had dream...
Just wasn't sure what i wanted to be...

    So i worked...at the Mc D's...
    Flipping burgers...
    Asking if they wanted cheese....
Met a man that said he would be good to me...
Until he loaded me up wit his seed....
Then decided he had a dream...
and just like dhat he ups and leave...

    I had a dream....
    But it wasn't of welfare...
    I had dream...
But now i got a family....

My mom can't take the noise...
I decide i'm not dating anymore boys...
Realized i got get out on my own....
I know social services will help me get a home...
Just need a decent job to keep it....
And hell some low rent and extra spending...
In a sense i feel like i'm winning...

So I'm content is what you think...
That so low i have sinked...
    That i'm just on welfare...
    But i had a dream....
And it wasn't about being on welfare...
    I had a dream...
Just wasn't sure what i wanted to be...
    But i had a dream....
And it wasn't about being on welfare...
    I had a dream....
But now i got a family.

We can't just look at this in a narrow minded way. Their are millions of people on welfare and for many differents reasons. Some doing it for the wrong others do it for the right. I'm not saying that its all they know cause that's not always the case. But that was what the fell back on...Why... who knows...someone turned their back...someone had too much pride to turn to someone..someone didn't have someone to turn to. Others got caught up and then some...well, thats just what they want. Our society allowed them to turn to the government...allowed them to be content..now they have come up with stipulations and regulations. And well that will work for some and it may not work for others. Everything falls back on something....

    Hmmm....Welfare.......

Welfare as a way of life is simply the symptom of many of the ills of society and has as many different reasons as the many people who find themselves trapped in its web. As with anything some people will use the system to get something for nothing and disgrace those who truly need the program for temporary survival.
Mad luv poet thanks for your heart
