Black Poetry : Welcome, to the Black Experience

i lovedided dis ****

nobody seems to
know pain until it's at ther
doorstep
and anytime somebody goes
through pain i say
now you know how black people feel
and i hate the ones who don't live but always have a opinion about it

and you know i caught the Def Jam
and Brooklyn was all up in it
but they forgot about me

Peace
you speaking my language

REALITY...

hits hard when PAIN is directed at you.

i once had a conversation with my son's eighth grade history teacher--who was a White female--who approached me about a t-shirt i was wearing...that read, IT'S A BLACK THING...YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND. you know the ones. anyway, she resented the inferences the words made. after a long discussion, she still didn't understand.

UNLESS YOU'VE WALKED IN THE BLACK MAN'S SHOES...UNLESS YOU'VE ENDURED THE THINGS I DO...UNLESS YOU'VE EXPERIENCED WHAT THE BLACK MAN HAS EXPERIENCED...UNLESS YOU'VE FELT THE PAIN THAT THE BLACK MAN HAS FELT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND.

but let me try to explain, anyway.

THANKS for explaining.
