They tell me that a rose by any other name…Remains a rose Like how a story is the same story no matter how it's told And sin is still sin no matter how good it feels A diamond coated with tin is a diamond still True? The stars still shine Even if they aren't perceptible in the day light Similar to how the darkest of times show true character Deep night sheds light on them providing visibility We once were blind But now correctly Perceive. When darkness arrives all are seen for who they truly are Whether they are monstrous or beautiful works of art Each and every one of us is naked within the dark And all of us ashamed of whom we are Without fabrications Stripped. During sun drenched days faux virtue was shown In the dark we realized our imperfections True colors were to all of us known Faults harshly brought back To our recollections All of us truly Exposed! Some picked up the pieces of their shattered spirits and rebuilt Back when darkness rained down on each our souls Some went with their naivety un-molested and safe Some cried inside, and on the exterior lied Some simply Died. The naïve ones were either lucky the night passed over them In denial of what they saw in the dark, or So blind they never saw the night come They never learned what I now know Lies hide truth but can't erase it Regardless of all your pretense Deep down you KNOW You are who you are Who you really are Realize. A rose by any other name, regardless, Remains a rose and please believe, The same goes for Weeds.
