Black People Politics : we will NOT mount an effective boycott because we are not organized….

:qqb009: just sayin……we lack the organizational cohesiveness to really boycott
Say jamesfrmphilly,

I request that you do not buy any florida made orange juice from the state of florida and ask other in your neck of the woods to do the same.

...Jus'sayin'.

You don't have to be organized to decide to not spend money somewhere or with someone

There are lots of reasons for this:

- Some of us don't pay enough attention to know what's going on,
- Some know what's going on, but don't know how to change it,
- Some of us can't agree on what to do and how to do it,
- Some care, but are too busy dealing with their own day to day struggle,
-Some just care about getting theirs and aren't too concerned about anyone else,
-Some are waiting for someone else to step up and "lead" us. (You know... waiting for the next Dr. King. I hope they're not holding their breath)
- Then there's a select few who just don't give a ****.

We had bad organization and poor leadership before hip hop.
not like now!
Lets be honest, all James is saying is that it will be more difficult to do it now then before 1988. Not impossible, or that we should not do it, just that it would have been easier back then!
There is much that is different now in every major Black community in the nation as far as organizing Black associations PTA, group advocacy, community watch, and food pantries.
Since the 90s no real national grassroots movement, leadership or national organizations have been formed by the youth, as have been in every young generation for 100 years from 1888 to 1988.

Even Alton Maddox stated that in the 80s there was a different mindset of activism that is different now, as he explained to educator Basir Mchawi, on Education on the Crossroads, as one of the reasons why, the Zimmerman case , did not have the political grassroots input or advocacy to make sure there was no foolishness going on!
