    Maybe I's ig'nant
    but tha last I's hurd
    we 'spose tah be free
    ain't 'spose to be no
    auction block on
    dah corn'ah
    ~still
    sellin womens an'
    mens for a piece
    of dat white rock
    maybe I's blind
    ~coz ..
    sho'ly the bonds
    of slavery be abolish
    wut den locks tha'
    chains in ouah mind
    seems tah me...
    we 'spose tah be free
    ~still...
    ouah chil'run
    be stolen and sol'
    lost to dah streets
    cheat'n & steal'n
    from ouah own kind
    disrespect'n
    instigat'n
    backstab'n
    not preciat'n
    dah elder gen' ration
    Maybe we's sleep
    fo'got 'bout be'n free
    fo'got 'bout Harriet Tubman
    fo'got 'bout Frederick Douglas
    fo'got 'bout Marcus Garvey
    who bravely spoke 'bout
    "negroe pride and unity"
    seems tah me....
    we liv'n lik' slaves
    in ouah community
    shufflin drugs lik' cotton
    fo dah massah's pockets
    use'n dah gun
    lik' a overseer's whip
    while soil'n dah wounds
    with salt and raw ****
    kill'n our kin...
    wit dat' same senseless hate
    lik' dey' did back den'
    ~I knows...
    we 'spose tah be free
    400 yers nah
    we been fight'n fo liberty
    so I wundah...
    has the plantation
    transformed inta des'
    heyeah concrete streets?
    maybe I's figah
    tha white man...
    wud' be ouah worst enemy
    ain't no klu klux klan
    hangin us in white sheets~

    dah murd'n man...

    humph....

    ~he.........black like me

    *In introspect.....

    how ironic
    ~that
    some have embodied
    ~the
    nature of the adversary

    ~now

~the assassin lurks in the mirror~

    i's be confused.
    yous be talk'n 'bout free
    but we ain't free
    to be the WE
    we wuz meant ta be.

    they say;
'you are who you have chosen to be'
coz dey knows we ain't free
    just confused.
    me and you
becoming the enemy of my people
and the enemy is at hand
    controlling my manifest destiny

    did you sez
    WE AIN'T FREE

    i knew dat

u should'a listened ta me long time ago
    i know
    didn't i tell ya dat
    didn't i.

    we's be free
    to be
only what dey want us to be.

    dat ain't free.

To choose slavery in a world where we are free to choose
Is truly a symptom of just how enslaved we be

    free to act stupid maybe?

hey we are free to a degree

i mean i can go to the store when i want
but there are constraints and those constraints are the way power is used
you can still be in power without oppressing
but too have an extreme top you must have an extreme bottom to compensate
but when you are paraniod and materialistic
    you are in for trouble

    hoping for the impossible

    PEACE on Earth

    the message is important...
with so much threatening us as African Americans,
the least of our problems should be self-affliction

    thanx 4 readin me..& respondin

    Awwwww, Bishop,
    you too sweet...and u know
    its right backatcha...
    thanx 4 readin me..

    So'ja,
    You know, those constraints are
    getting tighter & tighter
the lust for money & power
    has always been seductive
    the problem then comes
    Morality VS Greed
    some choose greed
    knowing...it leads to self destruction
    for themselves & our communities
does the end really justify the means......hmmmm, I wundah..
some of us need to think bout' dat....
    thanx 4 readin me....
