The candlelight burns, The warmth around it reminds me of you. A mystery game, I don’t have a clue, The only missing piece is the linkage of you. Where is my love? When is he coming back? There are angels in the heavens and roses in the sun, There are prisoners yearning to be free to have a little fun. Women in the world being abused by men, Too scared to move, Too scared to leave, Praying to the gods for the thunder to end. Teenagers killing teenagers in a misunderstanding, not of hate, Killing over colors, race and material things messing up there lives making big mistakes. Where are the role models, the mentors of the past? Did they sweat and bleed for nothing? Turn the other cheek and swallow their pride, To still hate one another and die with the tide. I don’t understand we’re supposed to be brothers and sisters united as one. These should be the years we should have overcome.
