You have to gain perspective of this MATTER. People are dying for the LAND in AFRICA is said to be in the MILLIONS.

They may all have DIED in VAIN.

Because that DECISION was not their OWN or even their CORRUPT GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL.

Borders were DECIDED by a COURT

Represent a NATIONALITY means you LEGALLY BIND YOURSELF to these COURTS

Benin demarcates disputed border with Niger

Benin has officially taken possession of the nine islands it was allocated by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in its judgment, which was rendered on July 12, 2005, on the border dispute with Niger.

The official ceremony to mark the event was held Friday at the Beninese Island of Tondi Kwara Barou in the presence of Beninese defense minister Issifou Kogui N'Douro, his urbanization counterpart Francois Noudegbessi and other government and army officials.

The ceremony was punctuated by the reading of the ICJ decision, hoisting of the Beninese national flag followed by the national anthem and sensitization of the local Beninese population on the need to coexist peacefully with Nigerien nationals.

According to the defense minister, the ICJ judgment requires the two countries to demarcate the physical frontier between them.

The minister said "this is a simple official ceremony to impress upon the need for collaboration between the people of the two countries. There is need for the people to continue living in perfect harmony."

Following a long-running border dispute that had been marked by a number of flare ups, the two countries agreed to take the matter before the ICJ, which is based at The Hague, Netherlands, on June 15, 2001. In addition, the two countries agreed that the decision of the court will be final and binding.

On July 12, 2005, after examining and reviewing records dating back to the pre-colonial and colonial periods, the court finally ruled on the 25 islands, which had been the subject of the 97-year old border dispute between the two countries.

According to the judgment, Benin was given sovereignty over nine islands covering a total surface area of 1,118 square km while Niger was allocated 16 islands including the largest, the 60 square km Lete Island.

Read this CAREFULLY. If you think living in that AFRICAN LAND will be EASY by just MOVING THERE will be in store for a GREAT SURPRISE when they cant GET their own BORDERS recognized. I mentioned there are OTHER NATIONS involved.

I am SADDENED that AFRICANS who FOUGHT for THESE BORDERS may have DIED in VAIN.
