    See, I never really
    Planned this thing
    And I know
    You weren't expecting me either
    We just kind of
    Fell into each other
    You tripped into my vulnerability
And I stumbled into your overdue desire
You collapsed into my loneliness and I
    Dove into your insecure fire
    Multiple times we
    Bonded lives with our anatomy
    Passionately breathing one another
    Through moments that promised forever
    So somewhere along the way
    We called it love
    See, we just kind of
    Fell into this thing
I don't remember the getting to know each other process
The contest of winning my attention, my affection
Or long phone calls of intimate conversation
I don't remember you saying you'd die for me
I dont recall any first dates
Just late nights of cooling heat and heating cold
I can't recollect promising to grow old with you
    When did we trade hearts?
Become a part of each other mentally, emotionally
    Spiritually and realistically
What happened to the infatuation stages
Where I wrote your name on several pages beside mine
And couldn't wait for the time to hear you say i've missed you
Where were the fireworks when I first kissed you
    They were skipped
To get to the explosions of sex we've had
During our sad ways and bad days
When I think of your touch
I should think of how my soul feels
    Not my hormones
When I'm alone I should feel
Sustained enough by something that's real
    But somewhere along the way
    We called this love
But how well do I really know you
    We kind of
    Fell into each other
    You tripped into my vulnerability
And I stumbled into your overdue desire
You collapsed into my loneliness and I
    Dove into your insecure fire
    Now we're unhappy
    And sex is not enough
We claim that we've had love but
We're really, trying to catch up

Wow...I'm thinking that when we're vulnerable, we're even more likely to be quite fond of one another physically, before we love mentally. Sometimes, it works out anyway, sometimes...not. You know exactly how to get to the heart of the matter poet.
