I don't think it was an apple ~

but it must have been so seductive
so beautiful to look upon
so hard to resist the
natural yearnings
to savor its delicate juices

& the smooth, spine-tingling
serpentine sounds of
the tempter...
like the most melodious
baritone
were much too sensual
far too pleasureable
to the ear
no way possible
a feminine soul
would not draw near

burning with hunger
for just a taste

...no it wasn't an apple

& God saw fit
to remove this sumptuous
tree of the knowledge of
good & evil from the earth
and took it back to Heaven...

but we still have the cravings ...
