Thanks....gotta question 4 u
Your comments made me think about a convo. I had with my Bro. in Law yesterday as we were hiding the eggs...You know we have alot of customs laid upon the surface of our Holidays that have nothing at all to do with the true meaning of these holidays...We came to the conclusion that these customs were created with good intentions...this intention was to interest and stimulate the youth in paticipation and further inspection of the true meanings...BUT...Do you think that as a society we have gotten too much into these customs and have lost sight of the true meaning...and maybe generation by generation the customs are being embraced stronger than the attributes evident by passing on the true meaning ...so years from now only these unrelated customs will be prevalent...Hmmmmmmm. ????? Thanks for the so necessary reminder...We must remain Vigilant...and put in the work to educate our youth and remind our peers at many Holidays...what do you think Desert Storm???

um um um its seems like yesterday...
i also agree with you on our "commercialism of the holidays"
every year i think it gets worse and worse yet it’s so subtle that you can barely recognize it-, which is one of the reasons, we allow it to happen. Not just with Easter but all the holidays... I think its important for us to not allow our children to fall prey to what mainstream americas teaching but for US to teach the children what the holidays are about.

i like this scribe for the familiar content of time spent with family. now your question to my sister Desert Storm...
it is unfortuante that society has allowed the concept of easter baskets and bunny rabbits to take the place of the true meaning of the holiday: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. although many cultures do not celebrate easter for its religious content becasue they do not believe in Christ but they also do not celebrate it for the worldly concepts either. i find it dishearteneing that those who have heard of Jesus, maybe even been to church a few times in their lives, will spend so much money on an Easter outfit to wear to the clubs and egg hunts but won't take time out to go to church. i also fault the churhc for they have gotten accustomed to having overflowing pews on this day that they are more resentful of those showing up just for one day. i feel they should use that time to speak Christ into their lives to a point that wherever they go from then on than cannot avoid that call of GOD on their lives. i think Easter egg hunts and baskets are fun for the kids but i think they should come second place to the true meaning of the season...
i shall step out of my pulpit now...this is an excellent poem and i enjoyed reading it. thanks for incting such thoughts today...
the memories of that day
the day he came back open arms
and into the light he flew
yes! what a day to remember
