    Walls
    Between my heart
    And my soul
    Barriers errected by past hurts
A fence wrapped around my heart
    To protect it
    From you
    From hurtful words
    From cutting blows
    From pain….heartache
    There is no key
There is no way to bulldoze your way in
I am the only one that can tear down these walls
    I alone hold the key
    But
Do I dare let you in ?
Shall I once again step into love
    I want to
    So badly
    I want to feel again
    To love again
To cry tears of joy instead of sorrow
    But
Can I let you in ?
    Can I love you ?
    Can you love me ?
    Walls
    Between my heart
    And my soul
