From the earliest development of the Black Panther Party, there were COMRADES of the BPP such as the Chicano BROWN BERETS and the Puerto Rican YOUNG LORDS.

As Black Student Unions developed in the late 60's and 70s in California, SOME BSU's became Panther "sister" organizations aligned with Chicano MECHA's.

As these organizations grew, so did Statewide Student, Third World Alliances, under the leadership of BSU's and Mecha's.

When the US invaded Greneda in the 80's and attacked the NEW JEWEL Movement, Mechistas stood by BSU activists protesting against US intervention. This later grew to JOINT PROTEST against US intervention in central America and the Caribbean. Mechista's stood by US as we protested against Zionism and Apartheid in South Africa.

When South Africa became FREE from Apartheid and Nelson Mandela became president BSU's and Mecha's UNITED in the fight to save affirmative action programs. On some campuses, such as UCLA and Long Beach State, Blacks and Latinos organized community Programs in neighborhood Projects and and inner-city schools. This Struggle Continues.

Gang intervention programs such as GRIPP and Unity1 brought Black and Latinos together in Los Angeles to "politically educate" the communities concerning the US role in promoting the Crack trade, starting in 1986, and how they used central American CONTRAS from Nicaragua and El Salvador as "traffickers" and this is where the gang MS-13 came from. Financed by the CIA. Bought and Paid to destroy Black and Latino UNITY in south central LA.

In the rap community, one of the most outspoken of the newer artists is a "latino" known as IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE. IT has long been associated with some of the most culturally progressive rappers in the BLACK community based in Leimert Part [my FAMILY "Village"], going back to the days of the GOOD LIFE CAFE and Project Kaos's Project Blowed. The director of the "BLOWEDIANS" is a former UCLA student and fimmaker, Ben Caldwell.

Last weekend I promoted a concert here in Dallas featuring DJ Z-Trip and former Freestyle Fellowship MC Aceyalone.

This represents a Left Coast MOVEMENT within Hip Hop Culture.

And by Left Coast, this is to say, "LEFTIST".

It is BLACK and BROWN POWER and UNITY in ACTION.

I AM part of this MOVEMENT and have been from it's inception.

And WE ain't squealing like PIGS!

This is some good stuff. I do a music showcase out here in Long Island NY, alot kids perform but what hear in alot of things they are talking about is a result of the lack of guidence from the older ones. Guiding vs. preaching. These videos you presented are inspirational. And I will start planting some seeds to inspire the youth that come thru my showcase and perform.
    Thanx

    :peace:
