Unwound third strings bend with raw emotion,
releasing bowls of sorrow and fried anger.
Just a flick of the wrist, can say something sweet
and gentle or penetrate like an Albert Collins stinger,
tossing your emotions in the air among blue lights.

Putting the world into words you can understand,
making sense of the confusion you can’t express.
Into the depths it stretches to drain that black pool
With some of that down-home, gut-bucket, ***-kicking,
foot-stomping, guitar riffing, rat-a-tat-tat shuffling blues.

About a mile down the road from heaven,
the blues live in dark closets with drunken clothes
hidden among the angry cloaks and bitter jackets.
A personal storm cloud thunders all day, but
it may never rain; it’s just the blues.

dedicated to all the great blues guitarists who've gone on to the house of blues that waits only for them--Ra

    Gotta 2 du it

Played for 30 years myself and met many of the greats and now they're gone, but their music lives on--it meant a lot to smart butt kid from Kansas to have a veteran show you the ropes--Amun-Ra :)

The reader can tell that you're writing about something you're passionate about. Your words were so vivid, they leaped off the page. Enjoyed, as always.

    One of Those Things

    :car:

I stayed on the road many years and had a chance to jam along with the great blues guitarist of my day, Albert King, BB King, Albert Collins, Little Milton, Freddie King and more. BB is still here but all the rest are gone except for a few nobody knows except for other musicians--Amun-Ra (A Blues Man from the Heart)

    It was a priviledge!!
