Black Spirituality Religion : VOODOO, a misunderstood religion?

In what country is Voodoo most practiced in?
Togo or Ghana...It is hard to say exactly how many people practice Vodun in Haiti.

And does it work it's magic as many people would say?
First you must tell me what you mean by "magic"?
If done Right it should work...by my interpretation of the word magic.

Have you ever watched a Voodoo ritual? talking about these amulets and charms, not to mention the chanting, trance like states, the use of dolls, etc. They claim to be talking to the spirits of the dead, etc. Perhaps this is why many people fear it. It in this way it's seen as evil magic powers, etc.

There are 3 spiritual/religious practices:

1. Hoodoo -- is not 'Folk magic" but rather a culture, an inheritance, with a distinct lineage
beginning in North America (1700-1800)~ Tayannah Lee McQullar
-- Cleromamcy: casting of small objects (ie. shells, bones)
-- Cartomancy: interpreting cards
-- Natural (Judicial Astrology: study of the positions and motions of the celestial bodies in the brief that they have an influence over nature and human
affairs
-- Augury: The discernment of phenomena (omens) that are believed to foretell the future
-- Oneiromancy: discernment based upon dreams based upon symbolisms

2. Voodoo -- is a practiced religion of Southern US and the Caribbean. The system contains elements of African ritual and rites + catholism and is characterized by sorcery and
spirit possession.

3. Voudoun -- is a traditional
African-Haitian religion in honor of the ancestors that originated out of West Africa. The religion is well over 10,000 years old as verified
Vivian-Hunter Hindrew, author of "The Sibyls".

Here in America, WE knew the basics of the Ancient KmTic system and the system of Voudoun long b4 Christianity was shoved down our throats. However, during that time frame we were Indians; not Negroes, not Colored, not African Americans.
