Black Spirituality Religion : VOODOO, a misunderstood religion?

If "Voodoo," is just another Religion, why does everyone think of it as scary? Why is it even dismissed as even Superstition? In your view is Voodoo a religion, cult, filled with witchdoctors, sorcerers, and occultists? What type of practice then in your view is Voodoo? Yet first, is Voodoo even classified as a religion? Vodun means Spirit.
Vodun/Vodoo is one of if not the oldest Spiritual Practice. Practice as in Technology or Science.

People tend to be afraid of things they do not understand.
In the Many Western society it was illegal to practice Vodun....for fear that it would lead to revolution as in Haiti

Yes it is a religion in the original sense and meaning of the word.
The word Pharmacy and Medicine has ties and or roots in what we call Witchcraft...Medicine Man, Bush doctor etc.
Herbal or bush medicine has been in use for centuries targeting disease by strengthening the Immune system. Whilst Allopathic(modern) Medicine is a recent development, that targets symptoms of disease.

Vodun is not a religion in the Western sense...as it is very much a medical practice as well.

Times are a changing....I am told that it is now openly practice in New Orleans.

It's origins were? Did the Roman catholics have any input with this religious practice? Just curious.
