So if JAY'S is for SALE like the REST of the NATION, MAYBE they should CONSIDER A BUYER.

How about a MAJORITY INVESTORS of AFRICAN AMERICANS from the SOUTH SIDE?

Local group eyes Jays

Sims, 71, speculated the group is being discriminated against because of its racial makeup. Five of the investors are black and one is white. None has experience in the snack food industry, but Sims said the group has identified a McDonald's retiree to run Jays.

After being contacted by the Sun-Times, Ubiquity CEO Jeff Dunn called Sims and provided financial information to Southhorn, Sims said.

Sims considers Snyder's reported offer of $24.8 million low for the Jays and Select businesses, which had about $225 million in sales last year. "That's a lot less than what I thought the company would be going for," he said. "I figured the company would be going for 35 to 45 million dollars without seeing anything."

Chicago investment firm Willis Stein paid $30 million to buy Jays out of bankruptcy in 2004. Ubiquity then bought it.

Sims said he offered $12 million for Jays in 1994, when Borden Inc. was looking to unload the company. "I have a thing for businesses remaining in the black community and saving businesses for black people," Sims said.

I just LOVE IT WHEN OUR PEOPLE come to the RESCUE in the NATION. WE have VESTED INTEREST.

But seemingly JAY'S dont UNDERSTAND that and OPT to SELL to a PREZEL COMPANY in PENNSYLVANIA.
