    Info-moetry,

I can't find the date on this but it may be part of the speech he gave at the Memphis Sanitation Strike back in February 1968 but I could be wrong...

    peace to you

Ty, i will try to find the date also. If the above date is true, that would be around the time when he was meeting with Elijah Muhammad and started changing his views on intergration thus:

"I fear i am intergrating my people into a burning house"

Also, if we notice who was standing around him at the podium during the "i have a dream" speech. They were not pastors and ministers, they were muslims.

exerpt from "our god is marching on"

If it may be said of the slavery era that the white man took the world and gave the Negro Jesus, then it may be said of the Reconstruction era that the southern aristocracy took the world and gave the poor white man Jim Crow. And when his wrinkled stomach cried out for the food that his empty pockets could not provide, (Yes, sir) he ate Jim Crow, a psychological bird that told him that no matter how bad off he was, at least he was a white man, better than the black man. (Right sir) And he ate Jim Crow. (Uh huh) And when his undernourished children cried out for the necessities that his low wages could not provide, he showed them the Jim Crow signs on the buses and in the stores, on the streets and in the public buildings. (Yes, sir) And his children, too, learned to feed upon Jim Crow, (Speak) their last outpost of psychological oblivion. (Yes, sir)

    Peace brother,

I was checking out the link you posted and was reading over some of Dr. Kings speeches. I may have found the date and place of his Black Power speech:

'Where Do We Go From Here'

    Southern Christian Leadership Conference
    Atlanta, Georgia
    16 August 1967

Let me know if you agree...
