It’s been a while since truth spoke,
    And lies became quiet.
    Truth is,
    It’ll forever be that way.
Because the hurt we feel is true,
    And the smiles are lies.
    Not all,
    But not everything is always.
    Folks gotta understand that,
Sometimes and God is the only always.
Now and forever is the present,
    And the future is—well—just that.
    Not known and undiscovered,
    Faithfully hoped and prayed for.
    But despite all of that,
    The truth is still absent.
    Because when we find happiness,
We deprive it of being happy.
    We immediately look for faults,
Instead of enjoying it for what it is.
    Then c*ck an eyebrow,
When a fault is found in us.
You didn’t seriously think you were perfect,
    Come again!
You don’t—well folks don’t want all that drama—but the drama found,
    Is drama made.
    Some said sexual desires,
    And physical attractions.
Are 9 times out of 10,
    Demeaning distractions—I think not.
    Not only that,
    But so much more.
    More than our minds,
    Can think of.
    And that’s another thing,
    Assuming.
Things stated pre- anything is sad sometimes.
Because folks can’t give things a chance,
    To show themselves to ourselves.
    We PREpare for,
    Discouragement and strife.
    We PREdestine somethings,
    That are temporary.
    We use false PREtenses,
    To make things seem right.
    We PREcede into,
    Every circumstance.
    We PREdetermine that,
One person is every other person.
    We PREdict times to come,
And fail to see the times at hand.
    We PREach out to saved,
    And sit beside the lost.
    We call PREcious,
The only pre- word human usable a PREdator.
    We try to PREdominate,
    When we should be recessive.
    We use the PREsent,
As an excuse for the past.
    We PREserve cruel thoughts,
    To use against the kind.
We try to PREvent everyday situations,
    From being everyday.
    Come again,
    Be real—you too much PREtend!
    Lost in your own self,
    Fighting to find you.
When all you had to do,
    Was be you.
If that task was too hard,
    You ain’t living right!
You picture so many you’s in the world,
    That you forget you.
    The truth is that,
This may not be true for everybody.
    But for someone sitting down,
    This is their battle.
    Not their battle with cancer,
For not being themselves—is their cancer.
    Killing them slowly until,
    Killing is of no more.
    Searching with flashlights,
In a room full of light for truth.
    Folks wuz up—it’s everywhere,
There you go fighting it again.
    You just hate to reflect,
    Your wrongness upon yourself.
    Too scared to be different,
    Too different to be normal.
    Then what—what,
    What are you?
    Who and where are you,
    In this matted sphere?
    If you’ve lived 5 years,
You’re suppose to know the answer or at least know how to come about it.
    See this all started,
    When options came.
    Our minds figured out,
That they weren’t owned by others.
    And then—at that very moment,
    We said—I’ll take that one!
Our first time and you know what happened,
Of course you do—you made the choice.
    Just like those before you,
And those during and after you do.
    It’s all—no not all,
    It’s a disappearing act.
    Everything comes and everything goes,
And the only thing the same is change.
    Yeah that one thing,
Most of us promise not to do.
    Strangely enough,
We can’t help it—there lies human sameness.
    One characteristic and gene,
    All humans are born with.
    Perfect is for the birds,
    Perfection is for us.
To lead up to be something,
    Rather than to automatically be.
It’s been a while since truth spoke,
    And lies became quiet.
And the truth is—not my words,
    But your own!
    For one mans truth,
    May be another mans lies.
    And one mans lie,
One mans—well you get the curve.
Folks (and that’s you and I),
    Tend to dramatize the miniaturized.
    And blow up at,
    A dot.
Don’t make no sense does it,
If not—then the point was made.
But if in our eyes big is little and vice versa,
Then why do we constantly find a way to balance them?
    Trying again—or really fighting,
To make a world fit into the spot for the missing puzzle piece.
Same ol’ verses are they not,
My bad if I have more truth than anything else I got.
    Born with it,
Just like that innate sense of change.
Oh—and if it hurts to listen to my truth,
    And maybe someone else’s lies.
Then watch out because there’s a counselor/murderer coming,
    Its name is conscience.
But of course if you got one already,
Then what I’m saying ain’t even a paper cut.
    Let alone,
    A pupil widener.
    Come again with more,
    Fa sho.
    Don’t let a category,
    Categorize you.
    Like Lauryn Hill says,
    Get out.
    And know that change,
    Isn’t always bad.
    Know that sometimes change,
    Is a NEEDED change.
    Kids are kids,
    And air is air.
    So let some things be,
    And leave it at that!
Take action when you feel that,
Circumstances are calling to be heard over the P.A,
    And not when,
It’s whispering in your ear—unless it’s your personal murderer/counselor speaking to you.
    But the truth is,
    The truth is still absent.
Only because your mouth hasn’t opened,
And spoke it into the P.A. system.
    Look BEYOND not BEFORE,
And see the tree in the seed.
    Study the seed,
    To study life.
    Study life,
    To plant a good seed.
Then that way you can use a pre- word,
Which is PREvail—and prevail against the worst.
Most situations are usually based on the prima facie,
Which is to say the first impression.
    I said that,
    To say this.
    The truth,
    The truth.
The real and God’s honest truth,
    Is out.
And that’s that despite all I’ve said,
You’ve yet to waste a word that wouldn’t even be titled wasted but stated.
    But like I stated(wasted),
    The truth is out.
So you can have all the spotlight you want,
But on reality’s stage—the true star is behind the curtain.
    And everybody knows it,
Except for the cancer fighting patient,
That only has cancer because they fight NOT to know the truth.
    And the truth,
    Is this………….

Yes, the truth is now, not what we knew, or what we will know later. Love the creativity and depth of this poet. Flow on.
