I have red in my head
    it's been on my mind
And I'm thinking of how many
variations of red there are to find

    Red can indicate a flush
    a rush of shame
    a rash of embarrassment
    an indicator of blame

When red is read it reads,
    Warning, stop, take heed
When scarlet words are written in bold print
how much more warning do you need?

When life is just a bowl of them
    Cherry red, makes merry
    Gleeful and fluttering about
A dance of the sugarplum fairy

    Ahhh...rose red
Passionate petals leading to a floral bed
    where two blossom into lovers
    And hungry yearnings are fed

And sometimes, red can burn way past hot
    bloody, seething, and boiling
    A crimson murderous rage
    Soul survivors screaming and recoiling

    So many different shades
color the thoughts in my head
when it comes to red it's hard to choose one
So I guess I'll opt for variations instead

Yes Blue, colors can tap into our emotions, and red, well, it has such a spectrum of feelings entwined within. Thank you.
So many different sides to the color red Rich, more than I can capture. Thank you.

Red is a color you can't wear around,
unless you want a City beat down.
Red brings so much pain, and it's just one color
yet it causes some to snuff out one another

Gee, how I wish only to remember the beauty of that color.
This is a awesome piece poet, you are so right ...
The many, many faces of RED

…but of course my sista, I could never drop into Destee and fail to hunt down a piece of your work. Unlike my own, I see your creative flow has yet to cease. For me the color red was once completely uninvited in my life, it seemed blue reigned from one corner of my world to the other :swim:. Of course…I’m older now, lol and I’m trying to embrace every color within the spectrum and face every mood each one brings :juggle: .

Very artistic and conversationally provoking piece…

    Enjoyed,
    Sage

Hey nevar, I thank you for such a kind reply.
Yes queentswana, red can be beautiful, but as in most things, red is multi faceted. Thank you so kindly sis.
Angelicsage...it's so good to see your face around here. Your creativity must be blossoming in some fashion I'm sure. I appreciate the way you delved into this piece, and perhaps others will do the same. Thank you sis.

    Wow watz:
    You penned this one perfectly.
So many variations I never really
    thought about. Again, you poetically
    move me.

    Much Luv
