My mind is not open, at all today
My love for my race, has all went away
I turn on television and guess what I see
Jerry Springer and 'em with an image of me

With an image of me? I don't look like that
Them folks is ignorant, ugly and fat
(I get mad when I see this and shout"It's not fair"
I'm intellegent and lighter and have good hair)

Yeah I'm black like them and I due tend to frown
They portray us like fools and treat us like clowns
No one really understands why I picked this flow
I don't write this for money, for fame or for show

I don't need no apology, my mind isn't bought
Rise up black folks, or you will get caught!

    Slippin' that is :bomb:

It's so easy to get caught up in the game...to fall in the everyday traps that bind us. I surely agree with all you've said, and said quite well...

It makes you feel bad when many are judged by the actions of a few, but between some of these shows and the news, it's perpetual. Long as we know who we are, we can continue to hold our heads up. This is a piece most can relate to here.

I've had many of these same thoughts when I look up at the TVs at the gym and see that stupid show on. Way to drop it on the real.

I'm feeling you on this one, especially the last verse.
