Excuse me honey, wait just a sec before you take your earrings off
I know that my audacity to speak to you makes you want to scoff
But before you begin to jump up and down, turn red and start to yell
Sit still for just a bit for you may want to hear the story i have to tell
A while ago when I felt oh so blue I met the man that i now know is yours
He was like a piece of sunshine that made the sweat raise up in my pores
I just had to know what was the source of this sexy african king's randiance
And his reply was I got a queen at home so honey you don't stand a chance
i have never been one to miss up anyone's happy home or budding romance
So I eased away but he stopped me before i could begin my get away dance
He said I heard you chatting with your girls bemoaning the lack of good men
But I want you to know we are out there trying to understand our queen
That's why I'm here now because i can't comprehend the queen God gave me
She says she loves me but sometimes I don't understand how that can be
When she was at her lowest i was there trying to light up her pathway
But she thought i was looking down on her and was quick to push me away
When I wanted to talk to her she was to busy fixing up her outter self
Not knowing that what attracted me to her first was her soul's depth
Listening, waiting while she went on and on about people who didn't matter.
Wondering when she would see that i wanted more than idle chatter
When her days were long i cooked, and waited for her in the candlelight
She walked past me saying she was in mood for dang blasted sex tonight.
She couldn't see that i wanted to be the lover of her soul, body and mind
That my I Love You was not insincere prattle but truly was genuine.
I held my tounge, when she cusses me out without reason or rhyme.
And i wait patiently for the her to see the king she has this time
Not wanting to walk away just yet if she's trully is my missing rib
And to tell you it wouldn't be easier to walk away would definitely be a fib
But i'm searching for clarity in this matter for I prayed and I know it is to be
So sister i hear your tales of no good brothers to be found but look at me
After all he said i had no reply so I just sat here lost in thought with him
Wondering why when we have a good man we cannot truly appreciate him?
So sister before you start to take them dang on earrings off again
Please understand I am just the ear that was here for his cry of pain
So take you king home and show him that you love him as much loves you
I trully envy what you found but don't worry I know my king is out there too

You know, it's true, we often don't realize what we have until it's gone. And it is possible to just be an understanding ear for someone, and not try to tempt someone when they're down and out. There's a king out there, for every queen. Well posed piece.

It was like running a marathon reading this mug, but the end was refreshing as a drink of cooling water. Mad heart in this and I'd say your king isn't far away if you keep writing like this.
