I never wanted to sell you a dream/ I just wanted to make you feel safe/ in my mental place/ your physical space/ so much love lived in weeks/ I speak/ before I think/ sometimes/ and then/ I / regret time spent/ not nurturing your sensitivity/ making you feel shamed/ driving a wedge between us two/ us too/ us to/ when I just wanted to be/ your protection/ without judgment/ I only meant/ to tell you that I think I love you/ but I don't know/ if you even want to be here/ I'm afraid to speak THAT truth/ because where does that leave them?/ I never meant to cause you pain/ but now your pain/ pains me.
