I pour all of me into you
    Stood in the shadows
    Watching you fly high
    Being the very wind
    Beneath your wings
    The sustaining force
    When you just couldn't
    But now that you're able
To stand again on your own
You choose to walk on my spine
Like I'm level with the ground
    How quickly the mighty forget
    From whence they've come
But dear beloved I offer you
    fair warning of days ahead
    As quickly as you arose
    you can be down again
    In twinkling of an eye
    Why cut your nose off
    To spite your face
    When you hurt me
    You hurt yourself
    For in you I dwell
    And you are in me

my goodness i like this piece! i've read it about 10 times, and want to comment more than this... but let's just say i loved it.

the first line: i pour all of me into you/stood in the shadows/watching you fly high is telling. but it leaves you with questions... is this a jealous sibling? a supportive spouse? a parent? a good friend?

betrayal is more hurtful than a blatant attack. and neglect and ungratefulness to those who helped you rise is just another form of betrayal. i have so much more to say, but that's all i can get out right now.
