Black Poetry : Until I draw my last breath!

To live truthfully in my purpose
And continually in faith
To maintain my own integrity
as I run this earthly race
Not to bow to unpopularity
But be strong in his "Grace"
To live truthfully for myself
Until I draw my last breath!

Not always going to please
you for I "won't go quietly
into the night", instead
I stand firmly planted prepared
to die and fight.
To look always for the best in
others until I see something
less.
Until I draw my last breath!

Finding approval is not always
demonstrative of personal
success, it is the self satisfying
feeling that you have passed
the test. Give God the glory
even when my Warrior spirit
rages...to far removed for
shackles to strong for cages.
Until I draw my last breath!

Somewhere among the crowd
their are those who think as
I and they will I remember when
it comes my time to die.
Not the nay sayers or the player
haters or the ones who said
"She's mean" or the ones who
didn't recognize "I am still a
Queen!"
And I will not rest...
Until I draw my last breath!
