Last evening I woke up beautiful
I had showered
Washed my hair and coiled it
With small black sponge rollers
Ever so tightly that the scalp speaks

Then I lay down while playing games on laptop
A perfect combination for sleep
Like curling up with a good book
The kind that lets you make pictures in your mind
Develop scenes that you would not regret paying money to see

I entered dream world unwilling
Till I got to a place where my scalp demanded relief
Reneged on the agreement about this hairstyle
I went to the mirror and entered early release program
When I looked up to behold myself
I saw that pretty little girl that escaped from me
I wondered if there were ways to keep her

In the morning she was still around
Eyes sparkling and smiling like if she hid the sun in her pocket
The realization of her made my stomach hurt
I was still beautiful and I wondered how
How am I to remove the many layers I hid her
So she can be out all the time
Nothing about me I want to destroy at this moment
For today I woke up beautiful
