Black Relationships : Understanding

I wish brothers would understand that a smile is not consistent with an invitation to my bedroom (sorry, but it's been overwhelming lately)

Islander...you comment might lend some clarity to a discussion that took place last week or so titled "Are we black women doing something wrong?". Brothers couldn't understand why a sister would sometimes smile or say hi to a white guy and not a brother. Isaiah used a scenario of sisters sitting on the lap and smiling at this big guy in class and would not do that with ahh, boys/men that they might be attractive to (something like that :) because they felt less threatened by the big guy.

I came to the same realization that you mentioned years ago...and since then I do not get offended if I pass a sister, smile and speak and do not receive the same gesture in return...and yes, i have been guilty of taking a smile from a sister to use that as an introduction other than a simple "hello", so I know where you're coming from. You have reminded me of that lesson...thanks.

It's odd that my answer to CarrieMonet's question is very similar to your...I would want sisters to understand that because we smile and speak to our sisters does not mean that it's a precursor of us wanting to go to bed with them. :luvv:

That I am not trying to get into their draws or have multiple partners because I have nice looks.

I Wish that My highly intellectual goddesses would get a chance to realize that I am just like them, instead of stereotyping me for a dumb athelete and cutting me off.

I wish that someone would understand that their sex has no power over me, God made Porn, A Dvd Player, Grease and Lotion and other oils for a reason.

Oops my bad Carrie u said one and I said a million, lol.
