Occupation
working for Paradise (Jannah)
A Big attempt was made
To make us Uglyfied
But many of us held on
Refused to go along for the ride
Our eyes could see the beauty
Our ears heard our hearts were awake
When overpowered we'd take the physical whipping
But we kept away from the mistake
Of accepting a set of values
That said we were less than dirt
We kept our true dignity
We forged past the hurt
We said it Loud
"i'm BLACK
and i'm PROUD"
My kinky hair is beautiful
And the clolor of my skin
Lights up the horizon
Our worth deep within
Was not killed or uglyfied
Not killed neither lost
It was protected and kept alive
Even though at great cost
And now we are
Growing stronger by the day
Defining for the whole of humanity
And making our own say
Let's don't make the same error
And try to take the same false ride
Of making our ownselves Beautiful
And eveyone else Uglyfied
