This reminds me of something the elders used to say, about us all having a time to die, but one's actions can make death visit you much earlier than that scheduled time. Thank you for giving us much to ponder, brotha poet.

excellent advice for any youngster into reading short stanzas about life and it's shortcomings. this is also good for the self-pitying kind to motivate them and let them knnow it ain't all that bad, shawty. all around good piece with nice wordplay. shuga shane, peace

Life a chance at living
Some are some are just existing
Grow up and be successful
Or grow up in prisons
Even though the chips are fixed and your path may
It still comes down to your decision

powerful piece and the truth my poetic brother... indeed one can't choose thy parents or living conditions while growing up, etc... still like u stated once one reaches adulthood and embark on a new journey all are able to pave thy own future... start living life as u see fit, and stop playing the victim because of what happen in thy past... in summary, u are wanting one to not dwell in self pity and literally embrace this beautiful world...
word of the wise to the street youth !
