    According to the L.A. Times, Perry hit the roof after the episode aired and reached out to executives at Turner, including Entertainment Chief Steve Koonin and Turner Broadcasting Chief Executive Phil Kent, to let the network know that he was rethinking his relationship with the company. Kent is said to have acknowledged to Perry that he should've been given a warning about the episode.

    People close to the show have said that the original script made even less of an effort to alter the identity of McGruder's main character. McGruder, it's being reported, also wanted 'Pause' to be the season premiere, but the network allegedly chose to mix it in with other episodes to perhaps cause less controversy. Though 'Pause' has aired twice, it is not scheduled to run again, and there have been discussions about it being banned from the channel forever.

    Should TP be upset and
    Do you think Tyler Perry should be offended by Turner and Aaron McGruder for 'Pause?'
    and why , was he going to come up with such cartoon ???

    it did kind of insult him.. cartoon or not.. and it's funny as ####.. I saw it
    last week.. I think his response was appropriate though.. it won't make a
    difference though.. they'll replace him with another ambitious and politically
    and historically un-conscious black upstart in a flash.. and that'll be that..

    It displayed a homosexual side to the cross dressing the guy who cross dressed like TP
    in the cartoon was playing gay.

    he felt attacked and disrespected and i kinda agree wit TP , He should have been upset.

    Just as the movie Network, and the movies of Robert Redford , like 3 Days of the Condor, the Candidate, Lions for Lambs and Spy Game,

    Spike also made a movie that was a double edged sword

    Bamboozled was designed to make folks uncomfortable and at times we need to nbe mde uncomfortable in order to think deeply or outside of the Matrix

    The Boondocks is ashow that has dangered me disgusted me at times;
    but lways made one think sbout values clarification from the one aboutr Dr King which surely must have angered his family, to the one about the loos of temper or the wild N word moment were the grandfather kills another old cantankerous old man, to prove something to one of his grands;
    disgusting? yes

    vile? yes

    But it packs a wallop and forces the Black community to look in the mirror

    This show may be asking the questio why is it that 50 years after jim Crow and the Hollywood fear based
    Emasculation of the Black male image,
    do we feel the need to have a man dressed in drag, to be the proveyor of wisdom and ethics to the Black community via fables on the silver screen?

    When Flip Wilson did Geraldine, it was a throw back of Milton Burles joke skits, nothing more

    but Eddie Murphy did all the Klumps and Martin did Big Mamma's House

    and after the history of what Hollywood has done to denegrateand castrate the postive Black male image, maybe, just maybe folks are saying enough is enough
    http://thenickelslickview.blogspot.com/2009/11/conspiracy-corner-emasculation-of-black.html

    Portraying pathologies, as a warning via entertainment is not always effective as Bamboozled clearly expressed.

    Carol O Conner a true liberal and progressive like Ed Asner was heart brocken whe he realized that "All in the Family" actually created more racists then embrassing them to wake up

    Maybe the folks who make the Boondocks feel that a generation lost of the knowledge of self mite repeat the pathologies in the Tyler Perry movies rather then avoid them

    Spike spoke about that as well

    what a persons sexual prefference is their busines, not ours
    but how would we feel seeing Langston Hughes, James Baldwin, Les McCann or Johnny Mathis in a dress, with fake bossoms and fake hindparts?

    I think they knew how we would feel and that is probably why they never did it!
