When Aldron and Armstrong were selected to make the trip to the moon, they trained in a Western US location. There, they encountered an elderly Native American who asked them what they were doing. Finding out they were "going to the moon," the old man paused and asked a favor. He requested they take a special message. His people believed spirits lived on the moon and he wanted to seize the opportunity to communicate with them. The astronauts agreed. The old man made them practice over and over until they could recite the expression perfectly. But what does it mean old man? The old man said, I cannot tell you it must remain secret.

After training, the astronauts searched the town over looking for someone that could translate the expression. They finally found someone that chuckled before revealing the meaning:

"Dont believe a word these people say. They will take your land."

:10900: that's funny since the white man brought disease where ever he went around the globe.

"Prior to the arrival of the Europeans, American Indians were remarkably free of serious diseases. People did not often die from diseases. As the European explorers and colonists began to arrive, this changed and the consequences were disastrous for Native American people. The death tolls from the newly introduced European diseases often reached 80-90 percent. Entire groups of people vanished before the tidal wave of disease."

"The diseases brought to this continent by the Europeans included bubonic plague, chicken pox, pneumonic plague, cholera, diphtheria, influenza, measles, scarlet fever, smallpox, typhus, tuberculosis, and whooping cough."
