I was watching television the other night when a twix commercial came on, a thick, plus sized black woman was asking her man did the pants she was wearing make her look fat? he had no response other than to stick some twix in his mouth and mumble, which the woman took as a no. However I took offense to it. Women come in all sizes be it black or white but black women especially have certain characteristics that make up who we are. From our nappy hair (which is really naturally curly from the roots) to our high cheek bones and full lips all the way down to our wide hips and abundant butts! Now I ask, Is it okay to make fun of our natural assets as long as the money is good? or is it offensive no matter what?

are you saying that black women are naturally fat?
it's been used as a excuse for far too long.
    i just don't buy that.

    fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables!
    exercise, clean water.

I didn't take offense to it. It was actually hilarious. I laugh every time it comes on.I dont think it was making fun of us, its a question women ask,and homeboy was tryna save his "tailfeather" lol. Thats just me though. I dont believe african american women are naturally fat however. We just have wider hips, bigger butts. But we can keep ourselves under control, by eating healthy and exercising

No, definitely not saying that black women are naturally fat. I am saying that many of us have wider hips and bigger butts than our white sisters and I think this commercial is making fun of that.

And know if you are just fat because you have let yourself go then there is no way that we can use an excuse that black women are naturally fat. That would be a lie and the truth is nowhere in it.

I haven't seen this commercial yet, so I can't give an in-depth analysis until I do. However I think we need to be aware that many commercials rely on crude humor!

I have saw it and i don't think it was about that at all but when she asked
he fill his mouth full of Twixs and answering which i thought was
not a bad thing it's was about the candy how people will eat it even when
trying to answer a question !
sure black women are more fuller then any other race , it's a hook our
sisters have that's common but fat no

I saw it also & I think the situation is taken completely out of context.

It is a reoccurring theme that women ask their men if they look fat, blak, white, or any other.

Now maybe they went a little overboard with focussing in on the sisters very round glutes (I dug the hell outta that), but U also have 2 understand that they think a big behind makes them fat, cuz they aren't blessed 2 have the proportions we have.

i thought it was stupid, meaning in real life wouldn't she ask him to answer after he was done eating. but i did think it was racial, being that they wewre blk and she had hre A** stuck out. btw i didnt think she was fat.

do agree w/ james though diet treat ya bodies right. thick doesnt mean fat.

the point though its mainly white chicks that r always worried about their butts getting big.
